A church can be an intimidating place to visit. We invite you to experience what the Gospel means spiritually, intellectually, and relationally. We hope that through your visit with us, you will experience the hope, love, and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.
A typical service at Calvary lasts about 75 minutes and consists of several elements: a warm welcome, engaging music from our worship band, and a challenging message, usually from our lead pastor, Reed Anderstrom. Our worship time is Sunday at 10:15 AM.
What will my experience be like?
We provide an environment where you can connect with God and be introduced to our faith community. As you come through the front door, you will be greeted by friendly faces. We will help you find anything that you need. From there, everything — the music, prayer times, and the message — is meant to help you engage with God.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. Wear what makes you comfortable. You will probably see others wearing anything from shorts and sandals to business casual.
What is the music like?
Our worship band is made up of guitars, drums, and keys. We sing a mix of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns. All of our music is easy to understand and allows us to sing from our hearts and connect with God. Our goal is that people participate in worship rather than watch a performance.
Can my kids sit with me?
That is your choice. If you want your kids with you, they are welcome to sit in the Worship Center. Alternatively, we have an age-appropriate worship experience called the Kid's Construction Zone for infants through 5th grade. This gives your children the opportunity to meet others their age and to worship God at their level. It also gives you the freedom to relax, knowing that they are in good hands.
Will they ask me for money?
No. If you are new to this church, there is no obligation to give during offering time. We just want you to come and experience God with us. We only ask those who call this church their home to support us financially, as God leads.
What is the teaching like?
Relevant. You will usually hear a message from our lead pastor, Reed Anderstrom. Every message is full of truth from the Bible, which we firmly believe is God's Word to us. Messages are presented in a way that is fresh, easy to understand, and meets you right where you are. The message portion of the service typically lasts 30-40 minutes. Our hope is that you will be challenged and inspired to go and live out God's plan for your life.
What does your church believe?
We have outlined our core values and beliefs here. Beliefs can either unite us or divide us. At Calvary, we make an effort to focus on those beliefs that we share, rather than the small differences that we may have.
